White Squirrel in Belle River, Ontario



I had been trying to capture a picture of the local White Squirrel for months. It's a quick little thing and with a camera not able to zoom to a nice picture, I couldn't get a good shot.

I recently purchased a new camera with a digital zoom and guess what wandered by my house this morning! My husband calls it Snowball and neither of us had ever seen one before January.

I'm attaching the picture I took. It's eating bread the neighbour left out.

On the outskirts of Belle River we've been seeing the white squirrel(s) quite frequently. Since moving to Emeryville two years ago seeing the white Squirrel(s) has been a much more common sight. Yesterday and today I have watched the very bushy solid white squirrel running along the tops of the fences through the neighborhood. Last year I got a video and she/he does not appear to be albino. Always a pleasure to see!!!

My mom has two white squirrels at her house. They have been there for years.

I too saw a white Squirrel at the park in Belle River, Ontario. I was shocked and had to capture it in a photo!

We now have a family of five, two white baby squirrels, a grey one and a black one with the mother living in our willow tree. She carried all the babies from another location yesterday.

We have seen HER too! She has got to be a girl because she is soooo cute. We actually watch her running around our lakefront yard with the black squirrels. She comes on a table on our deck and eats the sunflower seeds and peanuts. Her tail appears to be so much more fluffier than the black squirrels. She is quite cautious of her surroundings.
