Owl sighting

by Lynn Thomas
(North Walker Woods, Uxbridge, Ontario Canada)

While hiking on a hot day in the cool forest at North Walker Woods, just south of Uxbridge, Ontario, I noticed what looked like a large paper wasp nest on a branch of a dead tree.

On closer look it opened its eyes and I realized it was a huge owl, I think it’s a Great Horned Owl.

As I moved on it turned it’s head to watch me.

Wonderful experience being observed by this magnificent creature.
