Your name is Bird

A Bird

A Bird

Your name is bird that's all I know

feeding the feeder all winter long
you're so small with pretty brown feathers
which keep you warm in any kind of weather
showing off a pale white chest
you fear very little, but I do
especially the big grey hawk zooming down on you
it scares me, it chases you dear little friend
it leaves a scary dent and mocks all things
you hide between the fir branches and
I find the broken feathers in the spring.

What a sad little rhyme Josephine, and I think your little bird is some kind of Finch, either a Purple or House Finch.

Thank you for your Poem!
