Wolf howling in Kanata suburb?

I live in Kanata, Ontario, close to a large forest area, and do not normally her howling of any kind.

At one point I lived further out and am used to hearing the yips of Coyotes, but not much howling on their part.

Today at about 3:45 am I heard a series of about 5 or 6 howls. I'm not sure if they could have been made by a Coyote or not, but they sounded much more "Wolfish", in my opinion and I didn't hear any coyote-like yipping whatsoever.

It woke us up as we live in Kanata near Second Line and Terry Fox. We slept with our window open and were woken up to horror-movie like howls. It was eerie for sure. We brought our cat in as he likes to sleep outside in the summer. He was visibly out of sorts and happy to be in!
