Travelling to Hagar, Ontario, Hwy 535, we spotted a scary looking large size bird, pink/red head and black body ..... it appeared to be eating roadkill.

As we drove past the large bird, it did not move. We have never seen a bird like this in our area. I had to look it up when we got home and found it on this site.

It was definitely a Turkey Vulture ... interesting.

Yes, are in the very northern part of the summer range of the Turkey Vulture, so they are not often sighted around Sudbury - you were lucky to see this one!

Fort William Turkey Vulture
by: pamela

We were driving through Quebec last weekend, and just past Fort William we saw a Turkey Vulture eating "roadkill", and as we sat waiting for it to come back down, we spotted 3 others circling around .... they are definately a big bird!

I never saw one before this weekend ..... going back out this weekend to look for more .... and to get pictures.....
