Snowy Owl

Driving home from work I stopped to get a picture of a hawk.

After it flew away I spotted this Snowy Owl two hydro poles further up the road.

It was 4 pm on a small road along side Hwy 400 in the Holland Marsh.

The Owl stayed on the pole watching the farmer's fields and traffic.

The Owl stayed around that pole for a week.

I did spot it in the field but even with long telephoto lens could not get a good picture.

I've lived in Bradford for over 20 years and caught my 1st glimpse of this rarely seen bird. What a treat. I wonder how long they will stay as I hear they only come by at certain times of the year.
Love it while it lasts!

What a gorgeous bird. I love all birds of prey I have seen a few owls myself...eg....Barred Owl and the Great Horned Owl. Thanks for sharing,
