Sick Wolf

by Stacey
(Ajax, Otario, Canada)

I just saw a very ill and scared looking Wolf (not a coyote) with no fur on his tail, running down busy Audley Road in Ajax, Ontario.

Poor guy :(

Thanks for your report - do you know if any of your neighbours have seen this animal, or if there have been any other reports of a sick Wolf sighting?

Sick Coyote
by: Jan

I live on Audley, north of Rossland and I saw the sick and very skinny Coyote - it had fur missing, it didn't look big enough to be a Wolf.

Mange

Mange, see it here in Northfield (Long Sault) on some of the Foxes and Coyotes. We also have Coy-Wolves (Hybrids).

There is a pack of at least ten of them, I have counted them. They live in the woods North of Taunton.

Wolf in Ajax

Wolf sighting in Ajax on the north side of Bayly Road just east of Westney near midnight on December 30 2012.
Looked to be in good shape, but skittish.
I turned around to get a better look and it crossed the road to the south and headed south down Finley Avenue.

Wolf of Pharmacy and Eglinton
by: Anonymous

Okay me and my family just saw a sick Wolf with no hair on his tail strolling down the streets of Toronto.

He is also very scared - maybe the same Wolf?

Thanks for the info - it is likely a Coyote as Wolves stay far away from cities and people, but Coyotes do live in parks and green spaces in cities.

Wolf sighting in lakeside comunity
by: Kaitlin

Me and my brother saw a Wolf by the lake in the lakeside community while walking our golden retriever-yellow lab.

We were playing with him (it was night time). He growls when he plays, so I saw this huge Wolf trotting towards us with two others, by the grassland forest area watching us.

I pointed out the wolf to my brother and booked it.

The second we started to run the wolf just watched us until we were out of sight.

Wolf sighting in Ajax
by: Mark O

I saw a Wolf on Audley Road just north of Rossland on Sunday April 24, 2011 about 2am in the morning, running from the direction of homes in Carruthers Creek, run across Audley road into the fields across the road.

Once the Wolf was safely on the other side of the road, it stopped and stared me down.

This wolf was very healthy looking and did not look like it had missed many meals at all!

It was actually scary to think that a wWlf or possibly a pack of Wolves could live so close to my home.

The Wolf had mange. It affects many fur-bearing animals.
