Possible Gyrfalcon Sighting

by Marcus Ludlow

While driving on Highway 89 and Dufferin Road 3 I got a really good look at a bird working a field then retreating behind a barn.

I'm 98% sure it was a Gyrfalcon.

I'm no pro but am obsessed with spotting birds of prey.

I got a long good look, at first thought it was a huge Snowy Owl, then it got close and thought it was a huge hawk which I had never seen.

Then when I brought up photos it looked identical to a gyrfalcon.
