North of South River Ontario

by Tom Croucher
(Louke Lake Ontario Canada)

On a secluded path north of South River on Louke Lake, I came face to face with a beautiful Grey Wolf.

He scared me to death, but didn't appear in fear of me at all.

He turned around and walked briskly in the opposite direction, stopping about 30 yards away.

He stopped, looked back directly at me again and disappeared into the dense woods.

At first I thought it was a very large Coyote, but after talking to some locals and describing him, including the ice cold eyes, it was a Wolf.

I feel so blessed to have had that encounter.

One of the reasons I love this site is to read about encounters like this. My heart would have been beating so fast. Luckily for you it had more important business to attend to.
