Georgetown Wolf

We live on the Fourth Line south of #15 Sideroad (west of Georgetown) and last Sunday, December 16th, 2012, we spotted a very large, mainly white and grey Wolf standing on the edge of our property, eying our short-haired Sheltie.

We have lived here for over 14 years and have seen many Coyotes over the years, but this animal was larger, whiter and not skinny.

My teenage daughter got a closer look at his eyes while retrieving our dog from the yard and said they were yellow or very light hazel.

It was 11:00 am in broad daylight too, and he just turned and walked away into the long grass as we have 2 acres backing onto 100 acres.

He was very careful not to come onto the grass of our yard and didn't run when he heard our voices.

He just waited and hoped for our dog to go towards him in the long grass.

Thank you for telling us about your encounter - it sure makes you wonder whether Wolves are heading this far south!

I hope you don't mind, I moved your submission from being a comment on someone else's page, to a page of its own, as it will be seen by more people, and I think it is very interesting.
