First time sighting of Cedar Waxwing

by Meghan
(Barrie area, Ontario, Canada)

I have just had the pleasure of seeing two Cedar Waxwings in my backyard.

They seem to love my Smoke tree, they pull and pull on the tufts and then fly off, and are soon back again for more.

I have never seen any bird make use of that tree and I have lived here for 12 yrs.

Just wonderful.

I love Waxwings
by: Babette

When I lived in Northern Ontario, we used to see Cedar Waxwings each year. A flock of them would descend up on a Mountain Ash tree, and with lots of noise, would eat all the bright orange berries! They left a lot of droppings and mess behind them, but they are lovely birds and I miss seeing them where I live now.
