Fergus Ontario Sighting

by Elisabeth Burrow
(Fergus, Ontario, Canada)

Recently as I head west on Wellington Road 18, I have seen a Bald Eagle soaring in the sky.

Once, I spotted it over the sports complex and another time just west of Route Six.

I have seen it perched on a tree near the river.

I am not sure if anyone else has seen one.

This was in December 2011 and January 2012.

Thanks for telling us about your Bald Eagle sighting - this is what makes our website interesting for our readers - if you ever get any photographs of this bird, please send them to us, we would love to see them!

Bald Eagle flying over Aboyne
by: Elsa

June 19, 2016. I was lounging by the pool and saw an Eagle fly overhead. It came from north of County Road 18, flew directly overhead and was heading south across the Grand. Magnificent!

Bald Eagle

Was on the porch BBQing on Bellwood Lake Aug 27th and looked up to see a beautiful large Bald Eagle perched in a tree about 80 feet above me. He was quite content to just sit there and watch me cook my lunch for about 20 minutes while he preened himself. What a gorgeous Bird. When he flew off, his wing span was at least 60".
First one I have ever seen.

By museum in Aboyne
by: Troy

Jan 17/15 1:45 pm - I just spotted a Bald Eagle soaring a few hundred meters above the farmers field just west of the museum. I was very surprised and
happy to see it around town. I have only ever
encountered one and that was on Lake Nosbonsing, just southeast of North Bay, Ontario. Hope to see more of them in the future.

Eagle Spotted
by: Anonymous

Was visiting Pine Meadows today outside of Fergus, and was watching out the window, spotted a huge bird soaring in circles, grabbed a pair of binoculars, it was a Bald Eagle! Absolutely blown away, only the second time in my life to see one in the wild, last time was about an hour north east of Wawa, Ontario, on a fly in fishing trip in 2012. What a beautiful sight.

Eagle sighting at Belwood

I thought I was the only one. I saw the Eagle the last 2 weekends at our cottage on seventh street. I told a neighbour who has lived there for 25 years and he did not believe me!

Are you sure it wasn't an Osprey?

Grateful
by: Brenda

I saw a Bald Eagle in Fergus, Ontario, today. It was so beautiful. I was on Wellington Road 18, between 2nd and 3rd Line. I am so grateful to have been running a little late for an appointment. It was perfect timing.

Bald Eagle over Lake Belwood
by: Connie

We were amazed to see a huge bird with a white head and white tail feathers flying over Belwood Lake today - a Bald Eagle?! Wow! At first seeing it from far away, I thought that it was a heron, but herons do not fly the way that this bird did. It flew right over our cottage where we had a good look at it and it was an eagle.
