Eastern Bluebirds and Indigo Buntings

by Victoria Cochrane
(Owen Sound)

Owen Sound surrounding area of Balmy Beach specifically Indian Acres Road is where I would see both Eastern Bluebirds and Indigo Buntings.

The four years I lived on Indian Acres they would return to my backyard each year usually late spring early summer nesting somewhere up the road near the meadow where Indian Creek runs through.

They were always a pleasure to listen in getting to know their song but never close enough to take a picture.

Other birders know they exist there too as I often see nesting boxes someone has placed in prime position.

Orchard Lane, a side road off Indian Acres, is another area where I see these lovely's.

I've always been enamoured by both species and ever so grateful to see them in my life.

Your journey too will be rewarded in seeing these lovely lovely birds on Indian Acres Rd.
