Coyote sighted!
by Mike Granby
(Dundas / Hamilton, Ontario)
My wife and I saw a Coyote cross right in front of our car.
It was about 7:45 in the evening, and of course it was dark, but there are street lights along the side of the road.
Cootes Drive is a small highway that connects west Hamilton and Dundas, a small valley town also paralleling a old boat canal on one side.
The highway cuts through a wooded marshy area. It connects Dundas Conservation in the west, in a round about way, and heads north to country lands.
I rolled my tinted window down to see him, he looked clean and healthy, not mangy at all. Only one animal crossed the road, which he did at a steady trot and he did not look around before he crossed the road. He then disappeared into the darkness of a grassy field.
Thank you Mike, for your information about the Coyote in your area.
