Churchill Park, Cambridge, Ontario

This morning, Thursday, January 8th, 2015 @ 7:30am. I sighted a Coyote at the entrance of Churchill Park, Christopher Drive, while walking my yellow lab. It's not the first time I have encountered one, but this time was the closest I came to it. Many dog walkers have encountered and heard about there being Coyote within the vicinity.

Coyote attack once again
by: Anonymous

Another Coyote attack in Luckily there was someone around to see it and chase it off with a car, and no one was hurt. We hear the same thing - the city is looking into removing them. Coyotes are spotted there everyday and the Park is of little use to anyone. When are the people and tax payers of Cambridge going to reclaim their park?

Paying tax for Coyote Park
by: Anonymous

It may take a change in City Government to get rid of the Coyotes that have taken over the trails in Churchill Park. Luckily no toddlers have come to any harm, but their food source rabbits, squirrels, ducks and geese are running out.

I walk my dogs here almost every single morning. Not a morning goes by where we don’t see coyotes here. They are starting to get comfortable with being around people. As regularly I see people picking up their dogs and yelling and stomping and the coyote that is just 10 feet away from them, stalking them. Do not turn your back. They are getting more brave every time. Its crazy how during the day this park can we found littered with little kids. At night and early mornings, littered with coyotes. I don’t think many people in this city realize this. I think it’s a problem, that should be dealt with

Quite amazing to see these animals so close isn't!!! and I live in the Scarborough Bluffs area which is right on the shores of Lake Ontario. We walk our dog in a small but wonderful little nature trail behind our home and just the other day we were about 6 feet from a large female deer just coming out of the bush...she looked at us and we looked at her, we were speechless! Even our dog just stood looking at this large beautiful animal right in front of us. We have'nt seen any Coyotes, but quite a few Foxes! I don't leave the house without my camera anymore just in case we run into that Deer again, we could almost touch her she was that close.
