Bald Eagle Sighting in Scarborough

by Sharon
(Scarborough, Ontario, Canada)

Last winter a saw what I believed to be a young Bald Eagle flying.

This bird was much bigger than the Red Tailed Hawks that are around.

Then just this past weekend I saw the Eagle again flying. A seagull flew under it to get away and the size difference was amazing.

I didn't have a chance to get pictures.

I live a street over from Lake Ontario in Guildwood and it must live somewhere on the bluffs.

Bald eagle spotting?
by: JH

I was at a friend's house in the Markham Road and Finch area. I happened to look up and could have swore I saw a Bald Eagle flying by. Quite high up. Had a white head and tail. You can tell the size difference from other birds. At first I thought it was a vulture but it didn’t fly like a vulture. It was flying towards the lake.

Bald Eagle Scarbrough Bluffs

Visible flying over Cliffside Drive in the Scarborough bluffs area. Near Cliffside and Kingston, near the new building on the corner. Large wing span, swooping showing the white tail and head. Other wildlife seemed quite concerned also, crows and birds were chirping and calling what would seem to be erratically. Flying a slight north east direction, approximately 1/2 km away from the shore.

A Bald Eagle flying by.

For the first time, I saw a Bald Eagle hovering over the shoreline of Lake Ontario near Port Union. It was in the early morning of the New Year 2018. I was able to take a photo of it in flight.

Sighting in Scarborough

February 2013, could have sworn I saw two Bald Eagles today, flying down in the Rouge Marsh.

Seemed like there was a nest down near bottom of Island Road.
