Backyard Visitor

by Susan Middleton
(Toronto, Ontario, Canada )

Seen at St. Clair and Christie area at 2:30 pm
April 3rd.

It stayed and was looking for something behind the fence.

Could it be the cat or a squirrel?

Also have lots of birds in my yard that could be an attraction.

Yes, it could have been waiting for some animal to appear, and yes, the birds in your yard could also be attracting him.

I hope one of our readers will be able to identify this bird of prey for you.

I will also post this on our facebook page so that our facebook followers can also enjoy it.

Juvenile RTH
by: Jax

Hi there. I think your backyard visitor looks to be a juvenile red-tailed hawk. The juveniles have striped tail feathers. They don't get their beautiful red tail until their second year.
