June 21 2011 Single Coyote Spotted

by Dick
(Brampton, Ontario)

I watched from our condo (9th floor Pinnacle 2) a Coyote
stretched out sunning in a stretch of grass between our building and Hurontario Street around about 11:00am.

I watched his/her ears perk up and then take off under some bush. All the attention by the Coyote was on our local Groundhog. The Groundhog became a kill very fast.

Normally we observe White Tailed Deer in this same area daily, and watched two does give birth last year, plus Red Fox.

Have only seen one doe this year and no Foxes so assume they are being frightened off by the Coyotes in the area.

Coyote spotted as well
by: Anonymous

Yup:
Seen a single coyote crossing Erin Mills Parkway near Q.E.W. at 1:30 am. I know people walk their dogs there during the day. It was headed toward the Sheridan Research Centre area. People be well warned!
