What kind of bird?

Is this the bird you saw?

Is this the bird you saw?

One of our readers needs help to identify a visitor to her bird-feeder - I'm not sure what the name of a bird that likes to visit out feeder. It's about the same size as a Starling but has a jet black glossy body and a shiny purple head.

I think my grandmother said it was a purple Crackle but can't remember.

Anybody know?

Yes, if the bird is the one I think it is, it is a Common Grackle - I found a picture - is the one you see like this one?
