Two Swan sightings

by Diane & Ted
(Lambton Shores & Strathroy, Ontario)

We have received two more reports of Tundra Swan sightings in the area, Ted from Strathroy says - This was very exciting - there was a large flock in the fields beside Concession Drive in Newbury at 17:00.

They are south-west of Hagerty Rd (ie if you were driving from Glencoe you would cross over Hagerty Road and the Swans are about a quarter mile down the road in the fields on the left hand side).

We did not get out of the car as we did not want to disturb them but we were able to snap some long range pics.

My wife did not even notice them at first as the fields are still mostly snow covered there.

This was the first time my wife and daughter have seen them - it was a nice family moment.

Diane from Lambton Shores also tells us - We went for a drive today and saw the Tundra Swans. The fields are still slightly frozen, so we saw some spectacular landings.

They are truly beautiful birds.
