Three in a row...

I was taking photos of Chickadees at Starkey Hill (just outside of Guelph)at around 1:30 pm, December 23, 2012.

The trail was fairly busy with other hikers and plenty of dogs. As I was standing still, I heard a rustling in the bushes behind me.

I turned and saw what I took to be a dog, about 15 meters away and coming straight for me. A few seconds later I spotted a second and then a third identical animal.

As the lead animal got to within approximately 5 meters, I realized they were Coyotes.

I was startled by the size of them; much larger than I imagined Coyotes to be. I bent down to lift my tripod and they suddenly veered off and ran away into the bushes.

Thanks for letting us know about your Coyote encounter!
