Strange bird?

(St. George, Ontario, Canada)

January 26th 2012 at noon in St. George, Ontario.

I was outside and saw the strangest bird.

I was probably 200 feet away but I saw 15 - 20 birds flying, they were about the size of a Turkey Vulture but it had a long neck that looked more like a Turkey.

They looked black and I saw red on the tail.

They all kind of crash landed in the trees like they didn't know how to land.

I see Turkey Vulture and Red Tailed Hawks all the time here and this bird was neither.

Any ideas?

Hmmm.... I'm thinking it might be a flock of Wild Turkeys, but perhaps one of our readers might know.
