Robin nesting in backyard

by Clare
(London Ontario)

We hang our ladder on the fence behind our shed, when my husband went to get the ladder, a Robin had made a nest on the ladder with 3 eggs inside.

When would we be able to move the nest safely?

After the babies have left?

Any info would be great.

Thanks

What a surprise! If you can, leave the nest undisturbed until the eggs have hatched and the babies have left the nest.

At that time, remove the nest so you can move the ladders.

You may be able to re-locate the nest somewhere nearby, and the Robin pair may lay, and hatch, more young this year, or perhaps another pair of Robins may take over the nest and raise a family there!

Thanks for the great picture!
