Manitoulin Island Sighting of Coyote

by Lee Bird
(Kagawong, Ontario, Canada)

On Sunday, January 29, 2012 my husband and I were taking a leisurely walk through trail 107CD outside of Kagawong, Ontario on Manitoulin Island.

We had walked for about 1 hour and a half when we noticed two deer that crossed our path right in front of us.

We walked a little further and then saw what I believe to be a Coyote. It quickly slinked away from us and ran quickly out of sight. It had a very thick coat. It was low lying to the ground. This sighting sure got us invigorated.

We were not expecting this at all! We will be sure to bring our camera on our next excursion to capture images of this timid creature to share with others.
