I need help Identifying a bird

I did not get a picture. I saw this bird driving home from the cottage in the Kawartha Lakes area of Ontario.

It was a large Sparrow type bird perched on a stump in a swamp.

The bird was all grey with a jet black head with a tuft pointed towards the back of the head. It was so striking that it caught my eye while driving and now I can't seem to locate anything that looks even remotely similar.

Hi there! I have tried to think what kind of bird you saw, and haven't come up with anything! Maybe one of our readers will know, meanwhile you could check out What Bird for their Ontario birds.
