Fergus and Elora

by Donald McDonald
(Hamilton, Ontario, Canada)

Last year I visited Fergus and Elora for the first time and I found them to be lovely small towns with quaint stores and tea shops where we stopped after shopping.

While you are in Elora, take a walk back and see the Elora Gorge which is interesting.

Fergus has Highland Games each year, and this year the 74th Fergus Scottish Festival Championship & Dance competitions are being held on Saturday August 10th and Sunday August 11th 2019.

For anyone who is Scottish or likes things Scottish, this is a wonderful event as there are Highland Dancing competitions, Pipe Bands, Sheep Shearing demonstrations, the Caber toss, and much more including a Saturday Night Ceilidh.
