Bald Eagle sighting Fanshawe Park, London, Ontario

by Martie
(London, Ontario)

Bald Eagle in Flight

Bald Eagle in Flight

UPDATED - May 14, 2010 - I just heard about the nest of these Bald Eagles being blown down in the high winds we had a few days ago - here is a News article from the London Free Press about the rescue and recovery of the two Eaglets.

Martie, one of our readers, sent us this report - After a very busy day at work, I decided to take my dog for a walk at Fanshawe Park. Sitting by the river in the sunshine watching the ducks and geese, I noticed a large bird overhead.

It flew directly over me several times, and the beauty was amazing, it was a Bald Eagle.

It was about 5:15 pm and it was the most beautiful sight as it flew overhead and then off into the sun.

Thanks for letting us know about your sighting of this Bald Eagle. I have heard that there is a pair nesting in Fanshawe Park - perhaps you saw one of them.

I found a picture of a Bald Eagle in flight, so I have added it to this page.
