(Brampton, Ontario, Canada)

Wow! I just saw a Coyote for the first time here in Brampton, Ontario!

My dog was barking at it in the back yard, which is Ashurst Park.

Very neat looking Animal.

Coyote spotted at Etobicoke Creek Trail (Mayfield Rd, East of HWY 10)
by: Jim

I jogged this trail all the time. The beast was about 30 feet in front of me. I got scared and walked back slowly. Alive today. Looks like I will be finding another route.

Coyotes howling
by: Anonymous

I live by Mayfield and McLaughlin and spotted a Coyote last year, but I hear them howling frequently during the spring/summer season.

We had our bedroom window open last night and I woke up to the howls of a pack...yes, I'm sure there was more than one of them howling.

I'm not surprised that they are around as our area is very close to the forest and fields.

Coyote in St. Agnes Park / Moorehead Park
by: Debbie

March 15/12 8 AM Moorehead Park, my Husband was walking our dog on the walkway and a Coyote came from under the fence at Turnberry Golf Course.

The Coyote ran full tilt after my Dog. My Husband called our dog and she came to him. He yelled and waved his arms at the Coyote. The Coyote stopped and proceeded to follow my Husband while our dog was on the leash.

The Coyote came as far as the second ball diamond. I am very happy that there were no school children around because of the March break. We called Animal control and they dispatched an officer.

Please be aware because there are two Coyotes and they usually sit on the hill at the Golf Course.

Morning sighting
by: Anonymous

We live in Heart lake as well, our house backs onto Whitespruce Park and this morning at about 5am our dog was out in the backyard and he started barking.

Normally our dog doesn't bark very often but he wouldn't quit today.

I went downstairs to bring him back in the house and at the edge of the tree's was a Coyote.

The coyote made a playful leap forward as if to get our dog to chase him/her.

A farmer friend of ours says he has seen this first hand on the farm, the Coyote will lure the animal closer to it and other coyotes will attack the animal.

Still a pretty cool sighting.

Thank you for sending this report to us - your farmer friend is absolutely correct, this behaviour has been reported many times .... one Coyote will playfully encourage the dog to follow and play with him, while taking him closer to the rest of the family, who are waiting for dinner!

Coyotes in Brampton!
by: Anonymous

I've spotted a Coyote in Brampton, Ontario about 3 times in the past year and a half. I didn't even know we had these creatures here. I have a small dog (corgi, 22lbs). Should I be worried?

1st time (summer of 2010) - crossing Edenbrook Hill Drive going west at approximately 10pm, I believe he/she was headed over to the fountain area (streaming from the creek river just behind Bovaird and McLaughlin). Fairly large sized animal.

2nd time (mid October, 2010) - My Fiance and I were on our way to work when we saw a greyish colored Coyote crossing Airport Road just before Queen Street, once again headed west. This was around 7:30 in the morning.

3rd time (June 2011) - I was opening a window just before bed around 1:20am when I saw a small sized Coyote (maybe 20 pounds) running on the sidewalk on Edenbrook Hill Drive going north towards Sandalwood. By the time I got my smart phone to take a video, I was too late :(

Spotting on rhe east side of hwy 410 and williams pkwy
by: Anonymous

I saw an animal today at approx 4:30 on my
Drive home from work on highway 410 near the
Williams Parkway exit.

It was sitting down so I could only see the head in the tall grass.

He looked kind of scraggley.

I'm just thankful I didnt get into an accident looking back at it!

Coyote in Brampton
by: Anonymous

There was a Coyote in my back yard also, we back onto the Etobicoke Creek Trail.

What a beautiful animal, very camouflaged.

I am concerned about my neighbour as she is apparently feeding this WILD animal.

Is there a bylaw about feeding wild animals?

I don't know if there is a bylaw about feeding wild animals, but I do know that she shouldn't be doing that!

Coyote in Brampton
by: Julie

I hope this is the same Coyote.

One was spotted behind my backyard this week. It is on Dixie Road, between Williams Parkway and North Park.

I've seen them in Brampton as well.
by: Mike

I live in Heart Lake by the Camden Park cricket pitches. We've heard about Coyote sightings from neighbours a number of times.

My wife saw one last year while she was out for a jog. Before Christmas my next door neighbour spotted one at the end of our court!
