Wonderful Sight Overhead

Tundra Swans flying

Tundra Swans flying

This morning, March 16, 2009, a flock of Tundra Swans few in formation high over our heads in Foxboro Green, a condominium community near Baden, Ontario (west of Kitchener).

The swans were heading west when my wife heard their distinct call. It was a little like the muffled cries of babies, (and quite different from the call of Canada Geese) and she looked around for them.

She missed them at first because she was not looking so high in the sky, but when when we both looked up, we saw the rising sun flashing on their beautiful wide, white wings, making a powerful show.

They continued to fly west towards Stratford.
This is a submission from one of our readers - thank you Jack!
