Turkey Vulture

Turkey Vulture

It was a large bird with a big wing span, looks like a Turkey / Vulture.

width="475"

I'm 99% sure that what you've got there, is a Turkey Vulture.

They have been arriving back in southern Ontario over the past few weeks and they must have now reached Peterborough!

I often see them around where we live, St Thomas, either flying, eating road-kill, or perching on the top of barns or grain silos, but hardly ever in trees in someone's yard!

Thanks for writing to tell us about your sighting and for including your pictures, I will also post this on our facebook page.

Definitely a Turkey Vulture!

They sure make it harder to spot things like Eagles once they migrate back to Ontario!
