Thanks for the info!! Was wondering why his tail looked so different. Another hawk was actually flying around in the vicinity so assuming it was Mom. Very cool.

Nice photo! And this bird was certainly taught excellent hunting skills by his/her mama and papa! This is a juvenile red-tailed hawk! You can tell by the "barred tail" (i.e. the stripes).
