Red-Tailed Hawk at Western

by Peter

There was a beautiful pair of Red-Tailed Hawks at Western's campus today around the Thompson Arena on the corner of Western Road and Sarnia Road.

One of them had just killed a squirrel and they were both feeding on the deceased squirrel with a nice audience observing them.

Eventually one of the Hawks took the expired squirrel to a nearby tree to finish its meal.

It was quite a spectacle that garnered the attention of many students walking by.

A fantastic sight, really.

I drive through that area frequently, and will keep my eyes open for the Red Tailed Hawks, as should the Squirrels!
