Red Tailed Hawk pair

by Alexa
(Kitchener, Ontario, Canada)

While picking up my step-daughter at King Edward School, in Kitchener, there was a pair of Red Tailed Hawks sitting together in the tree beside the school playground.

One of them had a small branch in it mouth.

They sat on a branch together calling, then one of them flew away over the school, a minute later the other one followed.

I was so shocked that by the time I went to get out my phone to take a picture, they were gone.

Thanks, Alexa, for telling us about your Hawk sighting - I hope some of the school children saw the birds and enjoyed them too!
