Possum on the Deck

Sitting at our kitchen island at home in Guelph, Ontario, at 9:30 at night, August 21, 2013, I noticed movement in the pool of light cast onto our deck by the back door light.

Hunting for food at our patio door, and easy to see in the light, an adult Possum waddled along the sliding door.

The moment I moved to get a closer look, she turned and headed back into the darkness.

A long rat tail, white head and whiskers, and a pointy snout, meant without a doubt it was a Possum.

I went out onto the deck moments later, but she was no longer visible.
