Richmond Hill, June 23 2020 - I checked my pool filter basket this morning and saw what I thought was a dead creature (rat) bobbing around.

I attempted to remove the basket but did not want to touch the creature so I got a small garden claw to pull up the creature and put it on the deck.

After a few seconds it got up and walked over to the edge of the garden and hissed.

I realized it was a baby possum “playing Possum”.

It is drying out in a sheltered area and hopefully moves off later today.

Oh boy, he looks mad! I must say that little Opossums are kind of cute-ugly aren't they!
