Nyger Seed and Hummingbirds

What backyard birds eat Nyger Seed?

Also I live about 2 miles from Lake Ontario, in Etobicoke and I have a hummingbird feeder up, but have never seen one.

Are there any here?

Hi Linda - Finches love the Nyger Seed (sometimes called Niger Seed) and you should see Goldfinches and Purple finches at your feeder.

As for Hummingbirds - yes, they are around your area - just be sure that you only leave the feeder out for three or four days before you empty it and replace the old solution with fresh. Old nectar can be harmful to Humming Birds.
