Morning Surprise

by Toosie Spence
(Goderich, Ontario, Canada)

Friday July 23, 2011

Just completed an early morning walk on airport road in Goderich Ontario.

I encountered one Coyote coming from an open grassed yard onto the road. As soon as it sighted me it turned around and headed into the forest beside the yard.

I looked ahead of me and saw a man walking his small dog. Could this wee dog have been breakfast for the Coyote?

This Coyote seemed calm and almost disappointed when it saw me.

Wished I had my camera with me.

Who knows ..... a small dog should be safe when it is with it's owner, but the danger is when little dogs are out by themselves - they are easy prey when there are Coyotes around.
