Kanata Coyotes

by Sandra
(Kanata, Ontario)

Last Summer myself and three other people saw three coyotes run around the side of the barn where I live. It was around 5:00 pm and one of the three decided to go after the horses. One of the horses got spooked and ran, while the other, a Clydesdale puffed out his chest, stood tall and basically said "bring it on".

That coyote took off to be with the others that were already heading into the bush. And so far this year I've only heard them once and that was two nights ago before ten o'clock in the evening.

Normally they run behind our house towards the Ottawa river. So this year it's been quiet.

We do find the down-filled parts of geese and baby deer, as well as bigger deer parts.

Thanks for your report Sandra - you certainly have had close encounters with Coyotes!
