How do I stop the Bloody messes at our Front Door Entrance?

by Grandma Helen
(Belleville, Ontario, Canada)

We are Seniors who live in a Belleville East End City subdivision.

Some animal is killing many rabbits from outlying fields, also a mourning Dove.

It drags them to our front door entrance during the night leaving blood and fur or feathers all over the cement floor.

The heads are chewed half off but bodies are intact.

We have had four rabbits this winter and two rabbits & a dove last year.

How do I know what is doing the killing & HOW DO I STOP HAVING TO FACE THIS BLOODY MESS WHEN I OPEN THE DOOR?

I have no idea what could be killing the animals, or how you can figure out what is killing the wildlife in your neighbourhood.

I wonder whether it might be a cat or small dog.

If it were a Coyote it would eat the whole animal and wouldn't leave any behind for you to find.

Perhaps you could ask your neighbours if they have seen anything that might be killing these wild animals.
