Help with Turkey Vulture Problem

by Anna Mitchell

I have Turkey Vultures in my back yard.

They have been there for a few years and they are ruining it.

They are so dirty and their pee is everywhere.

I had a big pine tree taken down as that is the tree they went to, but now there are in my oak tree.

I am 82 years old and I am fed up picking up the leaves and branches that they drop. HELP.

Hello Anna, I hope somebody reads this who has some ideas for you!

I don't know how to discourage Turkey Vultures from hanging around your property, other than chasing them away by making loud noises.

If you are reading this and have an idea for Anna to discourage Turkey Vultures from living in her back yard, please let us know and I will publish it here.

Thank you!

Deter Turkey Vultures

I'm not sure if you still have the problem of nuisance birds, but cutting down their trees can encourage them onto your roof and ruin the habitats of other animals.
If you go to the Turkey Vulture Society webpage, they have a list of things you can do such as blasting noise, water toward them just as they are settling, there are special scarecrows and even shiny cd's or tinfoil can scare them off unless they turn them into toys instead! They are not pretty birds but they are so necessary. If you can tolerate them, it's better for the world ;)

You can send them to my yard. I would be thrilled to have them.
