Eagle sighted on the Thames River

by Laurie
(Woodstock, ON)

My boyfriend and I decided to venture out early this morning to go on a day trip to see if we could see the eagle people have been talking about on the Thames River.

We went to Fanshawe Park and after talking to a staff member there, we hiked to the spot on the map where, she said there have been sightings.

We found the nest and it is huge, two babies in it, and an Eagle standing guard in the tree.

As we were walking on the trail to get a better look at the nest and Eagle, the male Eagle flew over us. It was beautiful.

Next time we venture out, we will try canoeing.

We will return yearly to see this pair nesting.
