Coyote

by Kathy Badham
(Oakville, Ontario, Canada)

I encountered a Coyote in Glen Abbey, Sunday Sept 18, at 10:15 am. It was coming out of Glen Oaks Creek Trail between Nottinghill Gate and Monks Passage.

I was walking my dog when I turned back to my left and saw a VERY large WELL fed Coyote standing about 6-10 feet from me.

It must have followed me in the trail because I did not see it in front of me when I entered onto the street. My dog did not see it (thank goodness).

It started to follow me onto the street as I walked south onto an adjoining property. I got quickly out of its view and it turned around and proceeded into the trail travelling to the eastern side of the trail.

It did not seem to have any fear in its eyes and was not disturbed by the fact that I was walking there.

In fact, I had much more fear than it did.

That is the end of my walks through Glen Abbey's beautiful trails.
