Coyote Sighting on my Driveway in middle of night

by Ryan B
(Richmond Hill, ON, CA.)

I was just out on my driveway having a smoke at about 3:30am, and had my heart jump as I suddenly saw a Coyote run right by me.

He was only about 50 ft away from me, and was staring at me as he passed.

I could tell I must have startled him as well as he kind of ran past.

He ran into my backyard and I didn't see him again.

I was scared when I first saw it, I ran straight for my car as it was the closest shelter to me.

It was so close to me, and it was the first time I had seen something like this up close.

I thought at the time it was a Wolf because it looked just like one, I came online after to research and after reading this article and looking at the pictures I'm certain it was a Coyote.

I live in the north end of Richmond Hill, and this was the first time I've seen an animal like this here before, and I have to say I hope it's the last time.

Although I'm sure the animal was more scared of me, it really scared the hell out of me to see this Wolf-like animal so close to me in the middle of the night staring right into my eyes as it ran by.
