Black Wolf

A Grey Wolf - Black phase

A Grey Wolf - Black phase

This item was submitted by one of our readers in the US - thank you Pat!

I thought I would send this to you as some of your readers might be interested and I thought it was pretty rare and neat.

On June 18th 2009, I was travelling back from fishing in Northern Ontario, and was heading south past Wawa (just 15-20 miles before the Canadian Carver store).

I saw a HUGE black wolf in the road - I couldn't believe it ...... at first I thought it was a small elk from a distance, which didn't make sense.

It had to be 200lbs or more, it was HUGE!

It wandered off to the side of the road and then looked back at me before entering the rocks and forest. Really awesome.

Thunder Bay living (Black wolf)
by: Anonymous

I was out for a trail ride with my horse on December 30th and at the end of my trail ride I came upon a Black Wolf that was very healthy in size.

It was on a deer path that I had seen cross through, not long before I was up to that point in my ride.

The winters here are great and so are the trails.

P.S nothing happened, the Wolf just kept on going.
