Bald Eagle in flight
Our reader, John from London sent this report - I always thought it would be odd to see a Bald Eagle in the city, but on December 1, 2009 I was driving along Pond Mills road near the Wesmininster ponds, in London. I saw a large bird flying towards me, I had time to stop, get out of the car and watch a Bald Eagle eagle fly overhead.
Then just today, January 30, 2010 at 2:00 P.M., I was in Lambeth at the Copps' Buildall store when Janet (my wife) said to look up, we watched a single Bald Eagle fly directly over us about 30 feet up. Amazing site, smooth and graceful.Wonderful - it seems as though the Bald Eagle is thriving nicely in this area - I just saw one on Wonderland Road, near the Guy Lombardo Bridge, about a week ago.
