Bald Eagle sighting near Fullarton, Ontario

by Jane Eligh-Feryn
(near Stratford, Ontario, Canada )

I was driving west from St. Paul's towards Fullarton, Ontario, on Wednesday November 9th, at about 7:45 a.m. and saw a very large raptor-like bird flying towards me.

At first I thought it was a Turkey Vulture, but as we got closer to one another, I realized it had a large white head and tail, and there was a definite hook beak.

It was wonderful to see, and I really didn't believe it until I started to check web site listings of other sightings in this area.

Having lived on the west coast for many years I was always thrilled to see Bald Eagles, but I didn't expect to see one in S.W. Ontario.

I will be on the lookout for more.

Thanks, Jane, for telling us about your Bald Eagle sighting!
