Bald Eagle sighting in Beamsville (Lincoln)

by Gordon Vis
(Beamsville, Ontario, Canada)

I was out on Sunday, December 4, 2011 on my return leg of a 14 km run down John Street (from Victoria Avenue).

I had never seen a Bald Eagle before, but the white head and neck were dead giveaways.

It was a windy day, with 30 to 35 km winds out of the SSW.

The eagle was headed in a SE direction, and when I saw it, I stopped running and just stood there for a moment, taking it all in.

What a treat!

Thanks Gordon, for this report of your Eagle sighting!

There was an actual Mom, Dad and baby flying around for a while in the area:) a little more towards Vineland!

Awesome to see!
