Bald eagle in Sudbury Ontario

by sue Ballance

We were out boating on our pontoon boat on Ramsey Lake in Sudbury, Ontario, on August 12th 2011.

Around 3:00 pm we put into a small bay and disturbed a Bald Eagle out of a large spruce tree.

The Eagle circled the bay and our boat and then flew off over the island. We stayed there for a while but didn't see it again.

Could not believe our eyes!!! But it was definitely a Bald Eagle - what else could it be with that huge wing span, white head and white tail?!

A great experience and will go to look for it again, will take my camera next time!!

Bald Eagle in Field, Ontario
by: Anonymous

I witnessed a Bald Eagle on Clear Lake attacking loons. The Loon's babies could not be seen until the bald eagle flew away with what seemed like a fish in its talons, then the baby Loons re appeared. The parents sure had their work cut out for them, but all ended well. Wow, that's all I could say!

Lucky little Loons! They must have bobbed under the water until the danger passed

Iroquois Falls Bald Eagles
by: JULIE

I work at the landfill site in Iroquois Falls, Ontario. I am fortunate to have Bald Eagles all winter! We have seen 5 - 6 this season so far, but we counted 9 last year! What a nice bird.
