Bald Eagle in Delaware, Ontario

by B.C.
(Delaware, Ontario, Canada)

I was driving my daughter home from school in early December and noticed in a distant tree, the silhouette of large bird, which I assumed was a hawk.

When driving down the 402 I often make a game of seeing how many hawks I see before getting to work or home.

My daughter and I were extremely excited when we realized, as we approached the tree, it was in fact a Bald Eagle.

Unfortunately we were in a rush to get home, so I was unable to stop and take pictures. But I have to say it brings a smile to my face whenever I think about seeing the Eagle, and realizing that "Wow that isn't something you see everyday"!

Thank you so much for telling us about your Bald Eagle sighting - I too have seen them in the Komoka / Delaware area - they are truly magnificent!

Bald Eagle spotted
by: Paul

On my way back to London on the 402 from Sarnia, Ontario, Wednesday May 13 2015 and saw a Bald Eagle fly over the highway just past Hwy 2. The Eagle was flying south following the Thames. I could not believe what I was seeing! Fantastic!
