The Rose of Sharon is set on a quiet, tree-lined, street in the small Southern Ontario town of Aylmer and is available for long term rental - from one to twelve months.
This self-catering accommodation provides guests with four double bedrooms, with a crib, high-chair and play-pen available if required.

, Ontario, just minutes by car from the beaches at Port Bruce and Port Burwell on Lake Erie's north shore, the Rose of Sharon is suitable for families who are relocating to this area from other parts of Canada, or from overseas.
It is a short walk from the Rose of Sharon to the main street of Aylmer where you will find restaurants, banks, and shopping.
Aylmer, Ontario is a small town with a population of about 5,000 people and is known locally for its Tuesday Farmer's Market where local farmers bring their produce.
Aylmer is also the home of the Ontario Police College and the Rose of Sharon is convenient for those who wish to stay close by for a few days.
The village of
Sparta
which was originally settled by Quakers, and the village of
Port Stanley
are also nearby.
If required, bed linens and towels can be supplied, however, families can bring their own linens.
You can relax in the peace and tranquility of the large, restful garden, where you will find mature trees and flower beds.
This area of Southern Ontario enjoys beautiful, sunny summer weather so you may decide to eat breakfast or barbecue dinner on the patio.
On the main floor of the "Rose of Sharon" there is a bedroom with Queen size bed, and on the upper level there are three double bedrooms.
There are feeders in the garden which attract many native North American birds, so that they visit the feeders all year long.
Some of our more common garden visitors include,
Chickadees
with their cheerful song,
Cardinals
in their lovely scarlet plumage, the noisy
Blue Jays
and the delightful
Nuthatches
- even the beautiful Ruby Throated Hummingbirds visit our garden in the summer.
The little Nuthatches are the acrobats of the feeder and it is enchanting to watch their antics as they feed!

Ontario, where visitors can enjoy great shopping, Museums and Art Galleries and also the annual Hot Air Balloon Fest held in the summer.
Springwater Conservation Area
is nearby and you will find many kilometers of Hiking trails, some of which are accessible by wheel-chair and there you can enjoy the peace and tranquility of some of the last remaining Carolinian Forest in Southwestern Ontario.
You may even catch a glimpse of several of our rare native birds such as the Pileated Woodpecker.
During the month of March the Aylmer Ontario area is visited by tens of thousands of
Tundra Swans
, as they migrate from their summer feeding grounds on Chesapeake bay and fly north to the Arctic to breed.
On their journey they stop at Long Point and at the Wildlife Management Area in Aylmer to rest and feed before continuing their annual migration.
In late summer, the north shore of Lake Erie sees a unique migration of Monarch Butterflies. These beautiful butterflies spend the summer in this area and then spend the winter in Central America.
They gather in this area in the Fall as they prepare for their epic journey south, to winter in Mexico.
Thousands of Birds of Prey, who also fly south for the winter, pass through this area on their winter migration.
Visit nearby
Hawks Cliff
and watch for our native Raptors.
Some birds such as the
Turkey Vulture
, the
Red Tailed Hawk
, the Sharp Shinned Hawk and the rare
Bald Eagle
are summer residents in this area and during the fall migration thousands of these raptors are sighted daily.
Hawks Cliff is located just south of the lake road between Port Stanley and Port Bruce - watch for the signs at the end of Fairview Rd south of St Thomas.
